| Read This First I will be writing a series of "primers" over the next 6 months on a variety of organic chemistry topics. This is the way that I learned organic chemisty, and it has been of some use to others, so I thought I'd share. This is not to be thought of as anything more than a supplement to your text-book. I will not be posting practice questions, although if I find, or you suggest, a good link to some I'll post them here. This is soley to be used as a (maybe) novel way to think about organic chemisty reactions. The topics won't be complete explainations, nor will they be of any use to you if you don't do your homework (and my advise is to do all of the problems at the end of your chapters). However, each subject will include a synopsis of the topic with my own twisted slant on it, flashcard suggestions, and ways to approach the topic on a test. If you have a pressing need for a particular subject, or a question about a posted subject, let me know and I'll see what I can do. WARNING: The way that I went about learning o'chem is not for the easily offended. Many reactions have a suggestive component to them (eg. backside attacks) that my friends and I just ran with. If you don't want to read about violent three-ways between molecules, DON'T READ ANY FURTHER!. Finally, as I am neither a chemistry major nor a god, you must verify anything I write here with your textbook and your professor. I will do my utmost to verify all the information I post here, but there will be mistakes. If you find one, PLEASE ALERT ME (MsX@scrupulousps.com) and I'll make the necessary corrections. Ms. X |
